Gladys is able to hear again
Gladys could not say her Girl Guide Promise - She has never heard it. Now she will learn her Girl Guide Promise because she can hear!
Gladys is 19 years old and came to the centre quite deaf. She was not born deaf but became deaf as a childhood disease whe she had pass coming out of her ears. Slowly she became deaf.
Through the support of some Doctors HMGC could help her: Dr. Seema Shah gave her an ovelio test and odio test for free. Dr. Rupani cleared out her ears. The Giants Centre made moulds for both of her ears. A volunteer gave her hearing aids. The picture shows Gladys with the new hearing aids - rechargeable via small solar panels. Now she needs a speech therapy.
